Bob & Kathy Matheison
The M3 Ranch Story
“Our parents, Bob and Kathy Matheison, established M3 Ranch in 1986. Inspired by a trip to Scotland to explore Dad’s roots, they envisioned the Matheison Mountain Manor as a welcoming place to raise Scottish Highland cattle. Since then, M3 Ranch has seen the birth of many “hairy beasties.” While it remains a working ranch, Angus cattle now inhabit the pastures. Our mini Highland cattle, Buck and Bella, and their friend Happy, the miniature horse, represent the legacy of our parents’ dreams.”
Molly, Cindy, and Rob—Bob and Kathy’s children—now run M3 Ranch.
“Over the years, it has provided opportunities for our families to strengthen our bonds through shared experiences, adventures, and celebrations. We invite you to create special memories with us at M3 Ranch through weddings, family reunions, birthday parties, or any other gatherings you wish to enjoy with your loved ones.”
“With the river flowing on one side and majestic mountains rising on the other, the M3 Ranch provides a breathtaking backdrop for your special event.” –Cindy
“Some of our happiest memories are grilling dinner at the cookhouse, playing lively games of kickball and whiffle ball, and ending the night with gooey s’mores by the fire pit.” –Molly
“One of my most magical memories of the ranch is watching fireflies dance across the pastures at dusk, turning the fields into a shimmering sea of light.”
–Cindy
“Two of my most cherished memories at the M3 Ranch are watching my sons, on separate occasions, propose to their girlfriends. There’s nothing like a breathtaking Smoky Mountain sunset to make a once-in-a-lifetime moment even more magical.”
–Rob
“When someone leaves the ranch, I want their heart to feel like it’s leaving home—where the quiet brought peace, the warmth felt like family, and the memories linger like the last light over the pasture.” –Molly
“Our parents enjoyed sharing this special place with family and friends, creating unforgettable moments. We’d love for you to join in that tradition. Hope to see you soon!” –Rob
